My whole stay at Quest on Lonsdale was very pleasurable. Staff were very friendly & helpful. Room was very tidy and enjoyable to stay in. Will book here again and recommend to friends.
Good location. Room spacious and they thought of all the little details.
The hoel was in a handy location. The rrom was clean, modern and well- appointed.
The lift wasn't working properly and I was on the 5th floor. The only way to my room was via the fire escape stairs
set up of room, with bedrooms well apart
Pulled up outside to take our luggage in as no carparking facility - came back to find a parking officer giving us a ticket even though told by Quest to park out the front. Quest then suggested we park in a 24 hour parking facility 2 doors down for $20 day. When we left after 2 days, bill for parking was $120. Sugar spilt when I was unpacking, no vacuum or dust pan, rang and asked for help - told they would clean it up but they didnt - I cleaned up best I could on departing.
Our room was at the back and was quiet.
Our two bedroom suite had only one bathroom and the bedrooms were miniscule. So small in fact that in bedroom one we were only able to partially open the door just far enough to squeeze by into the room as the bed took up the entire space. There was an absence of shelves or furniture to put things on and so we had to use the floor for storage. They did not service the room every day and we ran out of soap and toilet paper. We could not get sbs on the tv so we were unable to watch the Tour de France for 4 nights. The staff said it wasn't connected.
Location was excellent and the hotel was very quiet. Parking was not very good for a big car and expensive; but the location of the recommended parking was at least very close.
Location in relation to shops and nearby sports grounds eg MCG
It had good access to the city and museums
The staff where extremely helpful. The location was great! And the room was just what we where looking for. Big enough to move around but not that big you felt like you had to stay in the room just to enjoy what you'd paid for.
The convenience of the location.
I had a metal tap fixture fall off the shower wall and onto my foot. Also, our friends had a sleepless night listening to the air vents above them in their bedroom. I also thought the staff attitudes varied significantly. At one stage a young man was on reception and incredibly helpful however the other two people we encountered during our stay appeared disinterested.
Staff were very friendly !! Location very close to shopping and entertainment. Room was exactly like the pictures if not slightly better. Room was very clean and beds were very comfy. Loved the spa bath in the room for little relaxation time
We liked the location, the facilities, the quiet nights, the cleanliness, the helpfulness of staff. Quest on Lonsdale was in easy walking distance of shops, restaurants, theatres and transport. Although we had no view (we stayed in a studio apartment and looked at just another highrise building which, however, did not affect our privacy much), it was peaceful and quiet. Everything we needed was provided and the room was kept clean. The laundry facilities were excellent and included in the roomrate. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Just a few minor niggles: The hotel has only one lift, in our opinion not enough for a 6-story accommodation. The kitchenette, at least in the studio apartment, had the microwave right above the sink, which meant it was hard to avoid knocking one's head while doing the dishes. The element in the water kettle appeared corroded.
The size and design of the room as well as the refurbishment.
The staff, as everyone from the Manager to the Booking Clerks to the Room Attendants were so pleasant. Not over-the top politeness just friendly and reassuring niceness engendering confidence in their responses to your basic questions.
Two things - one easily remedied - please leave more tea bagsin the rooms! Neither of us drink coffee so we quickly used up our supply.over 3 days, especially as one of those days was a wet Sunday, so no room servicing was provided. The other annoying thing was corridor noise, especially at 3.30am on a Saturday morning when some guests were returning from their night of revelling. Given that the corridor noise worsened before stopping it was obvious that other guests were also annoyed. Maybe a reminder in the lifts would do the trick, or else some accoustic wall coverings in the corridors.
